Is this the first of many?

Jason Reynolds, Arbor Builder’s newest owner, purchased the company in 2019

Jason Reynolds is a fourth-generation Central Oregon local and a construction professional since 1996. When he purchased the well-established Arbor Builders business in 2019, the team had shifted all its energy into building spec homes (if you’re not familiar with the term, see a full explanation of spec homes here).

Jason, however, saw an opportunity for something different: a return to Arbor’s original offerings of custom and semi-custom homes. “Our goal is to build high-quality, long-lasting and stylish homes that perfectly compliment Central Oregon’s high desert climate.”

Arbor Builders is no stranger to building custom and semi-custom homes. The company was established in 2005 and got its start building award-winning homes in Bend, and he felt that it was time to return to its roots.

Taking Off

During the first year, Jason used his decades of building experience to overhaul Arbors’ operations and marketing, including building a new website from scratch and launching new marketing campaigns. The team now had a new focus of “building your dream house on your lot,” put into action with an expertly assembled construction team.

The Arbor team’s hard work paid off just a year later, when they received what may be the first of many awards: Best Architectural Design in the 2020 Central Oregon Tour of Homes.

The three-bedroom, two-bathroom home, located in the sunny and scenic mountain town of Sisters, Oregon, is 1,648 square feet of mid-century modern comfort. “We designed this house to specifically fit the lot, maximizing space and livability. To give it a modern feel, we built in features such as beam elements that transfer from the interior to the exterior and outdoor concrete patios.”

Other noteworthy features:

  • Customized plans created by Arbor’s in-house architectural designer Michael Patterson.
  • Great mid-century feel with the elements that the owner chose
  • Vertical-grain walnut slab cabinets
  • Luxury vinyl plank flooring throughout
  • Quartz countertops throughout
  • Transom windows over interior doors to capitalize on natural light
  • Complete hardie siding and trim package

The Tour of Homes is now over, but readers who still want to take a peek can find a 3D virtual tour here:

What’s Next

Jason and his team are already looking ahead to next year, adding a long list of new homes to their portfolio that they’re excited to share with the public.
